We were once again thrilled to be asked to photograph the fourth annual Haymakers for Hope Charity Event, which takes place each spring at the House of Blues Boston. Haymakers for Hope is a local non-profit organization with a truly unique mission — to “knockout cancer”, literally! At this Rock N Rumble event, volunteers sign up, train, and face off in the boxing ring, all with one goal in mind: to raise money for cancer research. Most of these volunteers have no boxing experience whatsoever, and we love watching them putting everything they’ve got into this fight for a great cause!
This year’s event was spectacular as always thanks to the planning and design of Amy Kimball Events. The House of Blues’ multi-leveled design is perfect for a spectator’s event like this, and Amy’s team filled the spaces with high cocktail tables and dramatically colorful lighting to get everyone in the mood for a great show. We got to spend some time behind-the-scenes with the boxers while they warmed up, got on their gear, and prepared to get into the ring. The boxers sparred in front of a packed house of spectators, and the organization celebrated yet another successful year of fundraising for this wonderful cause.
