Supportive, patient, calm, organized, funny, energetic-are just a few words used by her clients to describe who Jill Person is at her core. Superb, high-quality, amazing, exquisite, gorgeous, incredible-are just a few ways that her clients describe her photography. Jill has become one of the most sought-after premier Boston photographers for all of the above reasons and so many more! She takes the time to not only get to know her clients as people, but to understand them as a couple, and get a sense of those in their lives that are of the greatest importance. This is not only true of her wedding clients, but all of her clients. Understanding who people are at their core, the heart of a family, the soul of a company, or the goals of an event or campaign, are what allow her become part of the event and to successfully capture those moments that should not be forgotten.
Since the age of 5 when she received her first camera, Jill has been narrating life’s big and small moments through the lens. She grew up just outside of Boston which allowed her the opportunity to hone her craft from a very early age. She was the Photography Editor for her high school yearbook for year years, landed her first job with Hunts Photo & Video where she had the opportunity to train directly with major photography equipment brands and gain valuable knowledge on the technical aspect of the craft. She worked with a wedding and portrait company, took film and media classes, produced and directed TV shows in her hometown and enrolled in Salem State University’s photography program.
Shortly after graduating with a BA in Photography, and a Psychology minor, she launched her first venture, Person + Killian Photography, LLC with Laurén Killian. Person + Killian quickly became one of the most in-demand photography teams, becoming fully entrenched in the Boston Wedding and Event industry working with some of the city’s best planners and in the most acclaimed venues. Person + Killian garnered many accolades and awards including Boston Magazine’s most coveted award, Best of Boston for Best Wedding Photographer.
Jill launched Jill Person Photography in 2020 with the same drive and commitment to telling a story through images and ensuring a memorable experience from beginning to end with an impeccable attention to detail, care and thoughtfulness. She continues to be involved with many industry associations including serving on the board of the Boston Chapter of the National Association for Catering and Events, comprised of over 200+ wedding and event professionals, from 2005-2021 and was President in years 2015 and 2016. Jill has also been an active member of the Boston Wedding Group since 2006 and served on the board in 2021 and 2022.
Her dedication to her clients and this industry consumes most of her time but when she is not behind the lens, editing photographs or crafting albums for her clients, she is devoted to her other life passions including travel, gardening, and her three rescue pups – Callie, Piper and Macy. Jill has been able to seamlessly meld both worlds together and has collected so many wonderful memories including one of the high points of her career-the honor of photographing Martin Luther King III and Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy in a replica office of Senator Ted Kennedy as they posed next to a photo of their fathers. Whether photographing her favorite spots in the city, happy couples, world travel, interesting products and décor, or famous sports heroes and musicians, it has never felt like work to her-just a life filled with incredible experiences, much love and lots of laughter.
