InterContinental Hotel Boston Wedding of Michael and John

Asking Michael and John to describe the inspiration for their recent summer wedding at Boston’s InterContinental Hotel, the couple replied: “We wanted a contemporary wedding that was elegant, unique, non-traditional and unconventional”. Their joyous ceremony and reception certainly held true to their vision, and we were delighted to be present to document it all.

It was a beautiful summer day and we were thrilled to be able to take photos just across the street in the Rose Kennedy Greenway  under the Echelman sculpture. At the start of the ceremony, guests were treated to an a cappella performance from Overboard, while Michael and John snuck to the altar for a surprise entrance. Combined with the emotional vows and two more performances by Overboard, the ballroom was filled with laughter, happy tears and celebration.

Details of the day were impeccably coordinated, from the lighting design of Suzanne B. Lowell, the elegant fresh floral displays from Columbine Floral Design; even the tiniest accents, such as the personalized monograms on the grooms’ cuffs on their Tom James suits, were not overlooked. The wedding day colors of purple and gray were included in custom welcome bags that gave the guests a taste of Boston.

For the reception, the dance floor was easy to fill with Michael and John leading the way for a night of celebration. Congratulations Michael and John!
