It’s official — the first summer weekend has come! We spent this sunny summer day at a beautiful destination wedding in Vermont with bride and groom Lacey and CJ. The summer celebration took place at the Mountain Top Inn & Resort in the rolling hills just outside of Woodstock in Chittenden, VT. The Mountain Top Inn sits on 350 private acres of woods and meadow, with spectacular views of the Green Mountains all around.
The couple began the day getting ready on the Mountain Top Inn grounds — Lacey and her bridesmaids were in the Jewel House overlooking the Inn, while CJ and his groomsmen were tucked away in another house on the property. The couple got their first look at each other right outside of the Jewel House, with a fantastic vista of the meadows and mountains on the horizon. The bride and groom were soon joined by their bridal party for formal photos out on the grounds, each groomsmen wore a coral pink necktie that perfectly matched with the bridesmaid’s pink summer dresses.
The wedding ceremony took place on the Knoll, which overlooked the mountains and the Inn’s sparkling lake below. The ceremony was officiated by Lacey’s twin brother along with a close family friend, which made for a special and very personal ceremony. Guests enjoyed a poolside cocktail hour after the “I do”s, before moving inside the Barn for dinner and dancing. The couple chose a color palette of coral pink and gray, inspired by the natural Vermont landscape. The rustic chic wedding reception made perfect use of the Barn’s wooden interior — pairing rustic wooden tables and chairs with elegant pops of white and pink summer flowers on each tabletop. Along with their classic 4-tiered wedding cake, Lacey surprised her new husband with a Boston Bruins groom’s cake (he is a die-hard Bruins fan).
